The UK government’s road safety initiative, THINK!, has launched its annual drink-driving campaign for the Christmas season.
Prominent global alcohol and pub brands, including Heineken and Fuller’s, have partnered with THINK! to encourage young drivers to opt for 0% alcohol beverages during the festivities.
The campaign aims to spread the message of safe driving within pubs and bars, striving to reduce drink-driving incidents. Its primary focus is on men aged 17 to 24, who are disproportionately involved in drink-driving fatalities and serious injuries.
Research highlights that young men often underestimate the dangers of consuming even a small amount of alcohol before driving. Statistics from 2022 reveal that 79% of drivers involved in drink-driving collisions were male.
As part of the initiative, 0% alcohol branding and THINK! drink-drive messaging will feature prominently on pub equipment and t-shirts worn by bar staff.
THINK! has an active advertising campaign titled ‘Drink a Little. Risk a Lot’. The campaign emphasises that even small amounts of alcohol can impair driving, endanger others, and lead to severe consequences like losing a driving licence.
We’d like to thank you for your business this year and wish you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
